The Marketplace Fairness Act passed the Senate this week and therefore heads to the House. I spoke personally with Congressman Markwayne Mullin last week to ask him about his position on this legislation. He said he does not support the Senate version of this bill, but he supports the version which the House has. I am disappointed to hear that Markwayne Mullin supports ANY version of this Internet Tax Legislation.
This legilsation is a tax increase, as it creates a new tax and adds unnecessary regulations onto businesses. Congressman Jim Bridenstine sums up the problems with this piece of tax legislation quite well in the video below.
This goes completely against what Markwayne Mullin campaigned on – less government regulations on business, in particular. I mentioned this to Markwayne when I was talking to him on the phone last week and he seemed to dismiss it, by saying that somehow this was necessary for the government.
I think it’s time Markwayne Mullin gets a BIG earful from those around his district to let him know we DO NOT support this and we want him to listen to us, the people he is representing, and vote NO on this bill.
