No Meeting Jan. 12th
With the Governor’s inauguration and other events going we will not be having our normally scheduled meeting for the month of January.
Over the past month or so we have been reaching out to voters for questions they would like to ask candidates for the local municipal and school board races.
Republican Chairman Shannon Grimes and Democrat Chairman Dana Rogers have produced a list of questions that are being sent to the candidates for a response and we hope to share the responses with you all via online media as well as the Tahlequah Daily Press.
In addition a Candidate Forum is in the process of being organized for the later part of January. Stay tuned for more details.
The County Executive Committee with help and feedback from the County Committee have set Precinct Meetings and County Convention for the morning of February 21st at the Tahlequah Municipal Armory building. More details for both will be forthcoming.
In the meantime we encourage everyone to attend and be involved and even consider running for Precinct or County party offices! For those not familiar with the process I have started blog series that I hope will help answer questions and pique your interest in participating. You can read it here at Precinct Meetings Part 1 . In the series I will try to explain the purpose and function of the party at the Precinct and County levels as well as what holding the party offices entail. My hope is to demystify the process and the offices in hopes that many of you will be interested in competing for and taking on those offices yourselves.
